Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14

Dear Friend,

According to the Beetles, “All you need is love” but what is Love, really? Putting someone else’s needs before your own is love. Being patient, kind, and humble is love. Giving the benefit of the doubt is love. Doing and giving your best is love. Forgiving and not staying angry is love. Being truthful, protective, and never giving up on someone is love. These things can be applied to a romantic relationship, but they should be applied to all relationships. Unconditional love is the best gift you can give to anyone so let me tell you right now – I Love You!

Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14)

Valentine’s Day is a day for love – not just romantic love, which is nice, but Love the world at large. This Valentine’s Day, send a card to someone in the military, bring flowers to someone in a nursing home, give chocolates to a teacher, nurse, or first responder. And yes, do something extra special for that special someone in your life, then keep the love going through the rest of the month! “There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.” ~George Sand

Random Acts of Kindness Day (Feb. 17)

We love the idea of but often miss opportunities to give kindness which is why this is one of my favorite days. Give compliments, hold a door, donate (items, money, or even blood), call a friend or family member, pay for someone’s coffee or buy a friend lunch, SMILE at strangers. There are so many ways to be kind without breaking the bank. After all, giving kindness is giving from the best of yourself. “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” ~Princess Diana

Love your Pet Day (Feb. 20)

We love our pets so it might seem silly to devote a special day for it but if you think about it, it’s no more silly than devoting a special day to tell the people you love that you love them. Show your love and appreciation with a special treat, extra long walk, or snuggle time. Post a picture with your fur, feather, or scaled baby with the hashtag #NationalLoveYourPetDay and share your love. “I think having an animal in your life makes you a better human.” ~Rachael Ray

Sincerely,

Christine
